It’s true, the purpose of every organisation is to make money and deliver the profits. The deepest purpose of any business though is to change the lives of the people who work there for the better. If you do this, you will exceed the profits.

Background.

Co-founder and  company owner, Non-Executive Director and Business leader with experience spanning over thirty years in the recruitment and employment sector. All our businesses have been created and built from the ground up centred around people and profits. Im dedicated to creating an enviable workplace culture where the people and the business reach their full potential.

Expertise.

A former CEO, Michelle is a trained NLP Practitioner and ILM level 7 executive coach and mentor. A fellow of the CMI and Non-Executive Director of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation ( REC). Michelle’s experience has all been about learning on the job. Learning from mistakes, failing fast, fixing fast and going again until it’s the best it can be.

Philosophy.

Profiting people is my philosophy, its about adopting a people first approach to making a profit,  and not just the profit in the right hand corner of the P&L. Its ensuring that the people who help create the profit for the business also profit personally and professionally whilst working in your organisation, not just financially, but through their development and progression, expertise, confidence and autonomy, growing themselves and therefore the business too.

My story.

Hi, I'm Michelle, and 35 years ago, my husband Richard and I started a recruitment business from our home. Our journey began with the desire to work for ourselves, make a positive impact on people's lives, and create a business centred around people, values, and culture.

Over the years, our entrepreneurial spirit led us to start multiple businesses, all of which revolve around the core principles of putting people first. Today, our portfolio of businesses (Cummins Mellor Recruitment, CJUK, Personnel Checks) employs over fifty dedicated individuals, generating an annual turnover of close to ten million pounds.

After over thirty years of starting, building and being operational every day, my ultimate goal was to deliver a succession plan to work more specifically with clients on their people plans and culture. So lucky me, my brilliant children now run the businesses! 

The transition from the role of CEO to Consultant and Coach, has provided me the opportunity to be very intentional about how I spend the rest of my career.

It’s now all about giving back. My work is still very much connected to our businesses but lies more in serving our client organisations by sharing the many years of experience and knowledge to help them create the best people-centred workplaces. My role on the board of the REC also ensures I can help and support our membership as well as staying up to date with the world of work and the constant changes we all navigate in business.
